All aboard with Tanfield Railway.

Much of the story of Wenlock Road is set around the adults working on the railway and in the absence of authentic looking stations and rail yards, we approached the wonderful people at TANFIELD RAILWAY in order to secure their help for some of the scenes.

We were thrilled and excited about being allowed access to some of their station buildings, cafe, and rail yard. without which we could not have successfully made the scenes look authentic and entertaining.

Tanfield railway is the oldest 'working' railway in the world and if you happen to be in the tanfield or Sunniside area of the North East, a visite to this wonderful site is highly recommended.
